This week end, Laguna Beach will host the 2013 KelpFest, a yearly event to celebrate the return of the kelp forests to our beautiful coastal city.

This is a fun educational day where volunteers will tell you everything there is to know about kelp. There will be a lot of activities, most of them centered around discovering what the ocean has to offer, and in particular the kelp forest.

Nancy Caruso from GetInspired Inc is the main force behind the Kelp Fest and also behind the restoration effort since 2002. Drop by and come say hello if you've been diving our coves over the last two years and wondered where all the urchins went and where all that kelp came from!

This year, I helped artist BirdSong and the Eco-Wonders and provided underwater video footage for one of her kids song "Kelp Forset Dancing". Enjoy!
